PROBLEM SOLVING: PROCESS FLUID

The problem

Time ago, we checked on a new starting chemical plant, where a process fluid was treated. Even with extremely clean fluid there were several problem on the line as valve blockages and other distributors.

The cause

With the help of Controils we made a fluid particle analysis and we found that the fluid presented an high solid contamination level. We focused ourselves on installed filters, especially because even in presence of this high solid contamination level, no clogging was detected in any installed filter. We opened a filter housing and we found why the system was so polluted and the filter cartridges didn’t clog: all filter housings were empty.

The solution

In the hurry to fix the plant, the plant has been made connecting all elements, including filters, but forgetting to install the filter elements inside housings.
