The problem

An hydraulic filter cartridge with paper media, even if exhausted, will always keep a straight shape of it pleats as visible in picture

The cause

If the oil is contaminated with water, the paper will tend to SWELL, but being able to dilate itself, pleats will assume the typical "WAVE" shape

The solution

Obviously a SYNTHETIC FILTER MEDIA doesn’t suffer of this swelling and consequently there’ll be no modifications in pleats shape in case of dissolved water contamination.
