PRODUCTION CHANGE
The problem
Sometimes a production change, may bring drastic changes in filter performances. A customer of us, mechanical components producer, use pocket air filters to catch suspend oils and particles in production plant air ventilation system. Suddenly he calls us telling us that pocket air filters are no more able to maintain the required performances in expulse fumes at the chimney.
The cause
Particle counter reading reveals an higher than usual of extra thin particles contamination level (particles diameter less than 0,5um). These particles are not trapped in pocket air filters, since they’re too thin. In the production line was added new hardening machine that, vaporizing the oil remained on the worked pieces, creates extra thin fumes.
The solution
to insert in the ventilation system, hard pocket air filters, able to catch these new particles. Our customer was able to bring the emitted fumes values at the desired conditions.
