PROBLEM SOLVING: FLUID CLEANING TIME
The problem
One of our customers complained of not being able to quickly reach cleanliness required by the system during the flushing phase. His request was improve filtration degree, believing that the fault was the not very performing filter element. Looking at the particle counter readings, we saw that the fluid was slowly cleaning up.
The cause
By making a survey on site we realized that the problem was not caused by the filter cartridges but by the flushing speed: the flow in the system was done with a trolley used for the transfer and / or for the off-line washing of the hydraulic fluid. During the flushing phase the speed in the pipes must be kept higher than what would be required in normal operation, in fact this high speed causes the fluid to move in turbulent motion keeping the material in suspension, otherwise in the absence of turbulent motion the suspended particulate hardly moves or moves extremely slowly, expanding cleaning times and giving an uncertain result.
The solution
The change of flow rate without replacing the filter because it was
